Christmas Eve- The Gift of Heaven

1 more sleep until we get to wake up on the most magical morning of the year! As a child, Christmas morning felt like a taste of heaven.

Heaven is the gift that we are going to talk about today. One of the first verses that many of us memorize is John 3:16- and for good reason! It is profound! God loved US so much that he gave His son, Jesus, as the way for us to enter heaven and live with Him for eternity.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

-John 3:16

My husband and I were recently talking about what we wanted our lives to look like, and what kind of legacy we want to leave behind. We settled on this- we want our lives on earth to make an impact on eternity. We have SO much hope in heaven- a never ending existence in paradise.

Mother Teresa said "In light of heaven, the worst suffering on earth, a life full of the most atrocious tortures on earth, will be seen to be no more serious than one night in an inconvenient hotel.”

Allow that to sink in! Heaven will be so, so, GOOD. I'm not sure my mind can comprehend it. In fact, it can't, according to the apostle Paul.

9 However, as it is written:

“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”[a]— the things God has prepared for those who love him—

-1 Corinthians 2:9

Knowing that I have the gift of eternal life in heaven gives me hope and courage to walk through whatever comes my way!
