3 Days- The Gift of Adoption

3 MORE SLEEPS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! I have been really enjoying spending these final days leading up to Christmas reflecting upon gifts that God has given- out of His great love for us!

Today we will open up a gift containing a certificate of adoption. Gods plan was always to be in close relationship with us. When sin came into the world in the garden of Eden, our intimacy with God was hindered. But Jesus changed that! God made a way (through Jesus) to accomplish His plan- to walk closely with His children.

When I allow this truth-that God is my Father-to sink into my heart, it changes the way that I see myself. A daughter of the King walks boldly, filled with faith, loves sacrificially, and does not live with compromise. This truth also changes the way that I approach God. I know that He is a GOOD Father, and just as I love when my kids show affection towards me, I know that His heart is filled with joy when I choose to worship Him and spend time with Him! It seems pretty wild that God could care so much about me- but He does! He is that good.

4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love5 he[a] predestined us for adoption to sonship[b] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

-Ephesians 1:4-6
