One of my favourite things about the holidays is playing board games with my family. For as long as I can remember, on Christmas day, we would pull the games out from the closet and spend hours playing around the kitchen table while snacking on Christmas treats. Today, I still love playing board games and card games!
In January our Grades 1-6 classes will be starting a new unit called "The Rules of Life." While our kids learn about responsibility and becoming people who can be trusted with what is expected of them, I am hoping to extend this learning into family homes (and have a little fun) with a board game invention competition!!
RULES & INSTRUCTIONS:
Sign up for the challenge by emailing carissa@linkchurch.org - include your address!
A board game mystery supply bag will be dropped off at your doorstep during the first week of January.
Use the supplies in your mystery bag- plus anything else you would like- to invent a unique board game. Create all of the playing pieces and a rule sheet to go along with it.
You will have the whole month of January to work on your board game.
Send in a picture of your board game along with the rules to carissa@linkchurch.org
Your board game & rules will be posted on this blog!
A panel of judges (made up of Link pastors and board game playing experts) will pick 1 family as our winner of a board game themed prize pack!
The winner will be announced on Wednesday, February 3rd.
